"
I received my certification from the Cincinnati School of Medical Massage in January 2013 and have practiced body work including Swedish (Relaxation) and Therapeutic Massage. I have deeply studied anatomy and physiology in conjunction with various massage techniques from light to deep pressure and practiced on a diversity of bodies from children to the elderly to the chronically ill and furthermore, to professional athletes.

I am born and raised and Cincinnati and teach at Modo Yoga where I am able to reach students through the spiritual practice of meditation, movement and touch. I truly see the practice of yoga and massage as a sacred form of art that ultimately leads to enlightenment.  When I am not doing body work, I continue to seek the love within and around me. Seeing the world as a canvas, I admire creations of all forms. I take pleasure in the speed and the gusts of winds that brush my face on a mountain bike ride through the woods. I daydream behind a cup of coffee and dive into the depths poetry and the soft ink that bleeds onto paper. I love the act of cooking for others and feel as if it is such a genuine gift to give to another. I am visually captivated in artwork that speaks with loud, painted colors and with soft, undefined borders. I admire the live, authentic sound of a record player and any music that makes the soul feel completely alive. The road often calls my name and my feet feel deeply rooted in travel and exploration. I see myself and everyone else as an artist of this universe and I am so excited to share the magic of touch and healing with everyone I encounter."

A few things to know about Hope Springs Institute before your visit:
  • Hope Springs is “Going Green”. One of the first actions is to reduce the amount of plastic that goes into landfill from water bottles. To help with this, please bring your own water bottle, fill it from faucets in the Studio and Farmhouse. There is now city water.
  • There is a “no shoes” policy in all buildings, so bring shoes that are easy to slip on and off as you enter and leave. You’re welcome to bring “indoor” slippers or shoes.
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs on the premises. Smoking in designated outside areas only.
  • Candles are not permitted.
  • Cell phones do not work here. There are two phone lines you can use and long distance within the continental U.S. is free.  There is wifi and some cell phones will work over wifi now (that is a new feature for some carriers).  However, wifi is satellite and unreliable at times.
  • For walking the trails through the fields and woods, bring socks, long pants, long sleeve shirts, bug protection (in summer) and shoes that support you on rough terrain and are waterproof.
  • Bring a bathing suit for the hot tub if you do not want to use the “no clothing” option. Robes are provided for you to wear when going to and from the tub.
  • All bedding, towels, hair dryers, shampoo and shower gel and flashlights are provided for your use while you’re here. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer a certain type or brand.
Serpent Mound:
Optional Excursion
After checkout on Sunday afternoon, those who wish to go will caravan to the site. Admission to the state park is included in the cost of the retreat. Located  less than 30 minutes from Hope Springs Institute,
The Great Serpent Mound is a 1348ft-long, three-foot-high prehistoric effigy mound on a plateau of the Serpent Mound crater along Ohio Brush Creek. It is the largest documented surviving example of a prehistoric effigy mound in the world and is on the tentative list to be added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. UNESCO’s justification of outstanding universal value:
"This monumental geoglyph embodies fundamental cosmological principles of an indigenous ancient American Indian culture.  Serpent Mound represents the acme of prehistoric effigy mound-building in the world and is part of a tradition of effigy mound building among some American Indian cultures of the present Eastern United States.  Its remarkably naturalistic quality makes it immediately recognizable as a representation of a serpent, and the form also aligns astronomically to mark the passage of the seasons.  The Great Serpent was a source of enormous spiritual power that a widespread pre-Columbian culture could invoke to aid them in hunting and in curing illnesses.”
